Born and raised in Philadelphia, Jesse Hamilton Jr. grew up in a musical family. Although singing around the house was the norm for us, it was seeing my father on stage for first time that ignited a fire in me! I knew right then I wanted to be on stage.Jesse began to lay his musical foundation by soloing in his church choir and playing in school bands. Jesse¹s passion for the arts landed him a music scholarship to Florida A&M University. There he quickly became a leader in the Marching 100, and also began to apply his talents to lead roles in theatre.
Shortly after graduating from Florida A&M Jesse was selected to play the Simba role (Nakawa) in Festival of The Lion King, a popular attraction at Walt Disney World. ³Finally I had the chance to perform everyday in front of thousands of people. This really helped me to build endurance and strengthen my performance skills
From there Jesse began to tackle multiple comedic characters as well as a diverse song catalog as a Lead Production Singer for Carnival Cruise Lines.
After 3 successful years working for Carnival, Jesse decided to further his travels in Europe. Jesse fronted his own band for many European spot dates as well as performing in a well-known gospel theatre show that toured throughout the continent.
After spending extensive time touring Europe, Jesse was offered an even bigger role playing Simba, in the opening cast of Festival of The Lion King in Hong Kong. This time the role would be more physically, vocally, and emotionally demanding.15 continuous months of performing in Hong Kong really helped Jesse to fine tune his acting talents and allowed him to add a lot of physicality to his stage performance.
